Insight On KONY 2012
For anyone looking for insight on the film KONY 2012, by Invisible Children, I’d like to steer you towards my good friend James Pearson’s blog post. James has been operating in Uganda for many years an I consider him an expert on that area. I also consider him to be among the wisest men I know when it comes to philanthropy.
James describes some of the upsides and downsides of the film here. He said it so well that I didn’t feel it beneficial to anyone for me to try and say it any differently. (I find this happens often with James.)
The production and direction of the film was top notch, as always. The IC crew always does an amazing job on that front. And God bless them for pushing the way they do, even when it’s not a perfect result. When was the last time you did something you considered to be perfect?
The bottom line is that they are inciting positive change for Uganda. And that’s exactly what they set out to do. There’s always more behind the scenes than what you see on the surface. I assure you, their actions are well thought out and deliberate.
Keep doing what you do IC. We support you and we’re grateful for you inspiration.
